*TOPIC: HOW TO KNOW THE WILL OF GOD FOR YOUR LIFE – PART 6*
*BIBLE TEXT: JEREMIAH 29:11*
*For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.*
Is as much you are satisfied doing what is not God’s will for your life, God will not force to take on his will for your life. There are many people living in dissatisfaction and hate what they do daily but they lack the courage to take the right way by finding the right place they actually belong. Being in God’s will for your life is the easiest way to living in peace, joy and having ultimate satisfaction in all ramifications of life. To know God’s will for your life, you must note the following.
1. Be determined and thirty to know. If you are not thirsty enough to know the will of God for your life, you will not know. We are commanded to pray to know God’s will for our lives (Col. 1:9). If God instructs us to pray to know and we don’t bother to pray about it, then, he may leave us to enjoy ourselves. After salvation, every believer must learn to follow God and carry his cross in their cross. You are not saved to be a slave to job or vocation, we are saved to take the kingdom of God to where God wants us to be positioned in life. This could be any sector but the first purpose of your being there is not to fend but to establish the kingdom of God in that niche. Wherever God position you, he expects you to fulfil his purpose there. So before you can ever know the plan of God for your life, you must be determined to know.
2. If you are determined to know, then, you must seek his face to know: God’s plan will not come by just being determined alone, you must be ready to seek God’s face to know it. Separate yourself to be alone with God for hours or days depending on your schedule. Spent time to wait on him to reveal his plan for you. Also, you need to allow him to instruct you on how to carry out his plan for your life. The “HOW” is so crucial that you must not miss it. Moses wanted to deliver his people by fighting each Egyptian he met but that would have taken him a thousand years to kill all of them. Common sense is not enough to fulfil Gods will, you need divine sense. God’s plan was to send Moses to Pharaoh not to be a fighter on the street.
3. The timing is important. The vision God shows you will not fully start operation immediately. There is a time for preparation and this time of preparation varies by individual. Don’t run ahead of God in the pursuit of the divine plan. Those who run ahead of God usually miss their way at the end. If God shows you the vision, your responsibility is to stay in fellowship with him until he says it is time. It is God’s plan and God cannot be too late in actualizing his own plan. You can’t love God’s will more than the owner of the will. Your time of preparation is to expose you to many things you will face in the future and to prepare your mind to receive the challenges that will follow. If you despise the time of preparation, you may end up weary and faint in the pursuit of your divine plan. Hab. 2:2-3 says we should wait for it even if it tarries.
4. Get relevant materials and study your way to avoid failures others experienced. No matter your calling, someone has done a similar thing in the past and failed, you must endeavour to learn why they fail and how you can avoid the pitfalls. In fact, through the reading of relevant materials of people who have failed before us, we gain years of experience within weeks of reading the book. I believe reading books and listening to tapes of great preachers and teachers is the best thing that has ever help my teaching ministry. Knowledge on how to avoid failure is out there, don’t be arrogant, proud or stingy to get materials to help your future. I have invested so much in books. There is no book to costly for me since I started reading.
