SHOULD A CHRISTIAN SUFFER FINANCIALLY – PART 5

BIBLE TEXT: JOHN 12:24

[24]Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it dies, it bringeth forth much fruit.

God does not have a desire in the suffering of his children but fails to practice the principles of the kingdom that may keep us in lack. The golden text teaches us a principle of increase. It takes dying to something to increase in every good area of life. Jesus died as a single man but his death earned human race sonship with God. He became the seed that died and we are the fruit of his resurrection from death. God has only one begotten son before Jesus resurrected but has billions today because of the sacrifice of Jesus. A sacrificial life or seed always leads to abundant life. A seed of corn is less valuable until it is planted. Whatever you desire to see abundance in it, plant it as a seed by the leading of the Holy Spirit.

God himself gave his only begotten son and won the World to himself through his sacrifice of his son. Abraham sowed Isaac and ended have billions called the seed of Abraham today. Hannah sowed Samuel to God and became the mother of many other children. In the same way, whatever God has given you whether food, material blessings, gifts, skills, etc, they are the seed that can be planted for harvest. You learn more by teaching others what you know. It is more blessed to give than to receive the Bible says.

The beloved, the increase doesn’t come by prayer alone. You have to plant before you harvest. You can’t receive without being a giver. You cannot harvest without sowing. This life works by principles and not by prayer alone. A man who gives financially more than you will end up receiving more whether he prays for money or not. If prayer alone is the secret of financial prosperity, the prayer warrior would have been the richest in this world. I spend quality hours in prayers day after day but it is not a prayer for what principles alone guarantees.

Beloved, if you want to have maize harvest in December, what would you do? Will you go on 3 days fasting and prayer to pray for maize plantation or, look for good ground and plant maize? Praying for maize to grow in the land you didn’t plant the seed of maize is an effort in futility no matter how prayerful you are. That will be stupidity. This is what many of us are doing, we have planted nothing yet expecting increase there. You didn’t sow love yet wanted to be loved. You are sowing hatred yet you wanted to be at peace. What you sow you reap. I do not mean money alone when it comes to seed sowing but in all facets of life. It is important to note that God doesn’t bless emptiness. He blesses the work of your hand. If you are doing nothing, there would nothing to bless. Your prayer should be that God should give you something to do or idea to put in practice first and when you get a work or job, then, God’s blessing flows.
