TOPIC: UNDERSTANDING YOUR TRIAL OF FAITH – PART

BIBLE TEXT: HEBREWS 5:8

*Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered*;

If Jesus our Lord was perfected by the things He suffered, then, we should all be ready to be perfected by what we suffer. This suffering is not referring to sickness and diseases but challenges and temptations devil will bring towards us. How did Jesus become perfect by what he suffered? He was led into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. He was scourged, chastise, beaten, and smitten without committing any offense during his shedding of blood for our redemption.

Sometimes we are so full of faith we think nothing we come against us. Yes, if you are full of faith you will always win but the devil will bring them to you whether full of faith or not. We are more than victorious when we set our eyes on Christ and speak positively in the time of crisis. Devil can’t stop trying. Though he knows you will win, yet he will try. This is where the knowledge of the word of God comes in. Devil will use people against you. He will instigate false lies against you sometimes. He will test your emotional response to betrayal. He may use people close to you to test your faith. All these will mature, strengthen, develop your emotional response, and help you grow thick skin against any form of a future attack. I have passed through all these. Even when you think God has abandoned you, he is watching you. When you think you have been cast out, God is there waiting for your response to the situation in your life. Will you stand on the word or look for an alternative in another small god.

In John 16:33, the Bible says:

*These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. IN THE WORLD YE SHALL HAVE TRIBULATION: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.*

Tribulation here also means persecution. Don’t be surprised when God leads you into hard places, he may put under a tough man or woman, it is a learning process. He may lead you to pastor a crisis filled church like the way I started in ministry, go there, and learn. It will help you on your journey. Whatever you face in life, in as much you are born again and following God’s will for your life, it will work together for your own good.

Finally, many of us will mature and become excellent only by criticism. Some people want to give up working for God because people say this and that about them. Criticism will bring out the best in you if you focused on leading in life. If you can’t being criticise, then it is impossible to lead in life. Do you want anointing? Be ready because will instigate people to cast aspersion on your method of ministering it just to stop you from setting people free.

May the eyes of our understanding be enlightened in Jesus name.
