*TOPIC: UNDERSTANDING THE TRIAL OF YOUR FAITH – PART 2*

*BIBLE TEXT: ROMANS 8:18*

*For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.*

Holy Spirit will lead you into hard places to face situations that will challenge your faith and test your foundation in Christ. Many people think that they can do without trials in the journey of faith but it is not possible. God will allow the tempter to tempt you to confirm you love and trust for him but NOT with sickness and diseases, that is devil’s work and you must resist it vehemently (John 10:10, 1 Pet. 5:8)

Jesus was our greatest example, he is the Word himself, he had all faith and knows all scriptures. He is righteous and committed no sin yet he was led by the Holy Spirit into a place of the test.

In Luke 4:1, the Bible says:

*Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,*

Notice that Jesus was filled with the Holy Ghost. He was not carnal. Some people think the trial of faith only comes knocking on carnal people’s door, no, we would all be tried not with sickness but with persecution and test of our knowledge and trust in the Word of God. Holy Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness where the devil was waiting for him to tempt him. God doesn’t have to authorize the devil before he tempts you. In as much you are in the world, the devil has free access to you to tempt you. God knows about it but only awaiting your victory.

Beloved, you don’t have to like examination before it is conducted in your school. Whether you like it or not, you must take part in it to be promoted. This is the same in the spiritual realm. It is not possible for a primary school pupil to be tested with a tertiary institution examination. God also doesn’t allow temptation that is more than our faith to come to us.

In 1 Cor. 10:13, the Bible says:

*The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.*

You may think what you are passing through is higher than your faith but it is not so. The only reason you think so could be that you have not built yourself up in the Word of God as expected of you. It is therefore a test to draw you closer to a place of fellowship and communion until you reach where is expected of you. If a student fail an promotional exam, the right thing to do is to repeat the class until he/she passes. If you remain a baby Christian all your life, the consequence is the repetition of the same process. That is why the bible says in Hebrews 5:12 which says:

*You have been believers so long now that you ought to be teaching others. Instead, you need someone to teach you again the basic things about God’s word. You are like babies who need milk and cannot eat solid food.*

I pray that God will give you understanding in Jesus’ name. Amen

To be continued. Pray for me.
