TOPIC: DECLARED INNOCENT AND ACQUITTAL

Bible Text: Romans 3:24

Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

If anyone or angel made you think your sins before salvation still attracts God’s judgment, the person is likely speaking for himself or the accuser, the devil. This is because, at salvation, you are declared pure and holy.

Let’s do a study on the golden verse;

Being Justified…

To be justified means to be declared just, innocent, righteous, free, and acquitted. It means to be declared free of all allegations and accusations leveled against an individual. It is the act of God declaring men free from guilt and acceptable to him and COUNTING THEM RIGHTEOUS. No matter your background and past lifestyle, salvation is the key to your justification. As far as heaven is concerned, you don’t have a case to answer immediately you surrender your life to Jesus. Like I always say, If God can’t forgive sin totally without remembering our past wrongs, He would be unjust to ask us to forgive our neighbors and hold no grudge.

…freely…

Our justification before God is free without any cost. You don’t have to do or pay any price to be declared innocent at salvation. If you have to do anything, then, it is not free. All you need is faith. Simple. Many ignorant men and women are going to “the thief in priest garment” to pay for what Jesus did for the whole world for free today. If you don’t read your Bible, you have to pay for your ignorance.

…by his Grace…..

None of us is declared guiltless, just and innocent by our works. It is all by grace. Grace is the unlimited love and favour of God to man.

Ephesians 2:8-9 says:

[8]For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
[9]Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Where is your boasting then?

…through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:……

Redemption means to redeem or deliver by paying the price. Anything spiritual blessing you have to pay before receiving is not from God. You can appreciate God’s servant who is the channel to perfect it but never pay to buy God’s blessing because it is not sellable. Jesus paid for it ALONE.

Many people also claim you have to go through deliverance, pray against curses, confess all sins from childhood till adult, etc to be redeemed or delivered but none of these can declare a man righteous and guiltless except the redemption work of Christ. This does not mean you should put right whatever the Holy Spirit is leading to confess or correct. It is only Christians who don’t walk in the light of the Word of God and are spiritual weak that often get entangled again.

No man should force to do any restitution. Follow the Holy Spirit leading and if he doesn’t ask you to any, don’t bother. Some pastors think they know better than the Holy Spirit. They associate all forms of challenges to past sins not confessed. The purpose of restitution is to have a clear conscience before God and man. If you are having defiled conscience, don’t bother.
