_It is advisable that you meditatively and prayerfully read the text first_

*TEXT:* LEVITICUS 14:10-20.
_*🔑KEY VERSE* “And the priest shall offer the sin offering, and make an atonement for him that is to be cleansed from his uncleanness; and afterward he shall kill the burnt offering” (LEVITICUS 14:19)._

Leprosy is a contagious disease. It does not only affect the carrier to the extent of eating up the toes and fingers but it can also spread rapidly among people. That is why God instructed that all lepers must be put outside the camp so as not to spread the disease and defile His people.

In our text, God gave the priest the procedures for purification for anyone who has been healed of leprosy. The beneficiary was to bring certain items which included two he lambs without blemish, one ewe lamb of the first year without blemish, three tenth deals of fine flour mingled with oil and so on. The priest performed the rituals which included offering the animals for trespass and sin offerings for an atonement for him. After all that, the cleansed leper would be received back into the camp, to live as a normal citizen.

As evil and abhorrent as physical leprosy is, spiritual leprosy – sin – is even worse. But thanks be to God, our Lord Jesus Christ has the power to cure both. When He came across Zacchaeus, He healed him of his “leprosy” of sin (Luke 19:1-10). The woman that was caught in adultery who would have been stoned to death also received healing from her “leprosy” of adultery.

The fall of Adam brought sin, sickness and death upon mankind. But Jesus Christ, the Son of God, has brought hope and light to man. Today, there is no reason anyone should remain with any kind of leprosy – be it physical or spiritual. Jesus Christ saves from sin; He heals all manner of sicknesses and preserves His people from the hands of the evil one. He stands at the door and knocks; anyone that opens to Him, He will come in to save, heal and give life – eternal life.

*✍THOUGHT FOR THE DAY* Jesus is Lord over all infirmities.

*Beyond quarantine*

✅The priests acted as both man’s physicians and mediators between God and man in the wilderness.

*1. Re-admission requirements*
There were strict medical procedures for admission back to the camp even though they were given the promises of healing Exodus 15:26, 23:25.
a. The priest will first confirm that the plague was healed before bringing him to the camp v3,7.
b. He will not be allowed to enter his tent immediately. He will be quarantined for 7 days within the camp and if found truly free will then be permitted to enter his house and continue normal life vv8,9 (Double testing).
c. He must sanitize and wash himself, his cloths and any part of his body that the contagious disease could affect v9.
*2. Atonement rites*
a. Atonement must be made with sin, wave, trespass and burnt offerings vv10-14, 18,19,20. See Hebrews 9:9-15.
b. Sin and sickness are connected. No permanent health, both physical and spiritual, without the cleansing blood of Jesus. “By His stripes, we were healed”.
*3. Anointing reception*
In addition to receiving righteousness through the blood of Christ, there is need for anointing of the Holy Spirit signified by oil in order to remain untouchable with sicknesses, diseases and all the works of the devil vv17-18.
Psalm 23:5, I John 2:27.

There’s power in the blood, power in the blood;

There’s wonderful power in the blood.
There is power, power, wonder-working power,
In the blood of the Lamb;
There is power, power, wonder-working power,
In the precious blood of the Lamb.

2. Would you be free from your passion and pride?
There’s power in the blood, power in the blood;
Come for a cleansing to Calvary’s tide,
There’s wonderful power in the blood.

3. Would you be whiter, much whiter than snow?
There’s power in the blood, power in the blood;
Sin-stains are lost in its life-giving flow,
There’s wonderful power in the blood.

4. Would you do service for Jesus your King?
There’s power in the blood, power in the blood;
