TOPIC: THE SECRET OF A BLESSED MAN – PART FOUR
BIBLE TEXT: GEN. 26:3
*Sojourn in the land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto they seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I swore unto Abraham they father; ……*
SOJOURN IN THE LAND AND I WILL BE WITH YOU
What determines prosperity is not where you live but the one living in and with you. If God is living in you and you are living for God who is in you with perfect heart, you are unstoppable wherever you find yourself in life. God has the capacity to connect you with helpers of destiny in any place you find yourself because the earth is of the Lord and the fullness thereof -Ps 24:1. Similarly, what determines your success in life is not based “only” on the state of the economy but the God factor.
There are rich people in every country. No matter how poor a country maybe, someone is rich there and that could be you. Daniel, Meshach, Shadrack, and Abednigo all succeeded mightily in a strange land. Joseph was not limited in Egypt as he rose to become the Prime Minister.
God promised Isaac His presence and God’s presence in the major deciding factor of success. You may be in a less developed nation but if God is your shepherd in that nation, prosperity will be yours. It is far beyond your human effort even though you must give your best in whatever you are called to do but the best may not be sufficient without God’s blessing.
Does it seems to you that you are laboring under a closed heaven, you need to check if God is indeed living in you and with yo? Also, be sure that you are living your life to please him.
Joseph was a classic example of a blessed man. Joseph prospered in every land he found himself. He was the envy of his mate both in and outside the prison. As a slave, Joseph prospered. As a prisoner, Joseph was in charge. Outside prison, Joseph was deciding the faith of a whole generation. What is the secret of Joseph’s success?
In Gen.39:2, the Bible says this about him;
*The Lord was with Joseph so that he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master* -Gen.39:2
How could a slave be that prosperous? God was with him. Joseph’s success was not hidden to his master. His success was evident to his master that he found favor in the sight of his master and became his attendant. Potiphar put Joseph in charge of his household and entrusted into his care everything he had and it was recorded that the Lord blessed Potiphar’s household greatly because of Joseph- Gen. 39:2-5.
Beloved, if you learn to listen to God in all circumstances, he will make you rich and prosperous in all areas of life. It isn’t a hard thing for God to prosper his children but only a few learn from his daily leading.
Many of God’s children are full of their own ways. They want it done in their own way and with their own understanding. Prov. 3:5-6 says we should not lean on how own understanding but in all our ways we should acknowledge God and then he will direct our path.
Many do not trust in God when it comes to critical issues. They want to finish it and tell God their testimony on how they have done it all by themselves. God is not going to bless what he is not part of. You must take you desire before the Lord and he will bless it before it is executed. God will never stop you from succeeding but you will always need him to succeed in all that you do.
I want us to note something about Isaac’s relationship with God. God didn’t speak or counsel him once & stopped but led him every time the need arises. If you yield to God’s leading once, he will lead you the second time and continue as you continue to yield to him. If you haven’t obey the simple instruction in the word of God, why should he teach you again? Learn to obey simple instructions from God so that you can learn greater things from him.
You see, those who enjoy God’s leading are not scared to start new things, they have no fear when investing or taking a risk in business. They know they can hear from God when to invest or pull out of the investment.
The ability to follow God’s leading gives you assurance of success in all endeavors. If you have been listening to him before in small matters, it won’t be hard to hear him when the decision between life and death or prosperity and bankruptcy is about to be taken.
