WHY YOU MUST SEEK THE LORD – PART 1
TEXT: Ps 34:4
I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears
Trials and challenges are natural phenomenon. We can’t escape it in as much we are on earth. The early we learn how to deal with them the better it is for us to live a victorious life. Jesus didn’t promise trouble free journey but he affirms that when we pass through fire he will be with us. He is with us so that he can help us whenever we call upon him.
Both Christians and unbelievers will face challenges. It may differ in nature but they all require firm standing to remain standing after the trial. A Christian has better advantage because we have the helper, advocate, standby and counsellor living with us.
Many complain about what they are passing through but do nothing about it. The woman with the issue of blood lamented for 12 years (Mark 5:25-32). She was complaining and the problem kept on counting years. Until she made a move nothing changed.
She was waiting for one day. The interesting thing about her story was that Jesus didn’t have time to touch her but she forced herself to touch Jesus. If Jesus hasn’t mentioned your case, learn to touch Jesus. If that woman was waiting for the day Jesus would have time to mention her case, she would wait forever. Beloved, don’t agree with that ugly circumstances again, seek for Jesus and touch his garment through prayer and fellowship. Enough is Enough.
Don’t wait for a prophet when you are your own number one prophet. Don’t wait for prayer point in church before you approach the throne of grace. You can do away with African magic for one day to seek the face of God and that will change your life for good forever.
Talk is cheap. Action is required to move any mountain. Sometimes we expect someone to do what God wants us to do.
David told us he sought the Lord. Before you complain further about that problem, have you sought the Lord concerning it? Have you taking time out to wait on the Lord or you are busy looking for a prophet to give you a word of knowledge, vision or prophecy? Remember the man at the pool of Bethesda who was waiting for an angel to stir water had to wait for 38yrs. Do you want to wait again?
The reason why many are defeated is not because devil is powerful but because of their own spiritually bankruptcy.
David the Shepherd boy sought the Lord from the wilderness until he appears in the palace. Many spend their time watching nollywood instead of being in spiritmood. I do not discourage watching films at your leisure time but not at the expense of a destiny that is begging for urgent attention.
If we claim to tired of shame and reproach, then, let’s set aside time to find solution to our challenges. Why is one day, 2 days or 3 days to much to separate ourselves to be with the Lord?
Apart from this, how many books, tape or video cassettes have you bought to address that situation?
My best investment in people’s lives is through books I gave them to read to address their needs and knowledge impacted in them.
You see, Daniel knew the solution to the problem of his people through reading- Daniel 9:2.
Paul also laid emphases on his books and parchment in 2 Tim.4:3.
Why do you study a particular course in school? Is it not to be able to solve problems in that field? I see it as highest level of ignorance when someone claims he doesn’t need books to address his/her life challenges. Whatever you need to solve your problem is written in the pages of a book, from the Bible to other God inspired literature materials.
Hosea 4:6 says, my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. They are not destroyed for lack of fasting and prayer but for lack of knowledge. Right application of Knowledge gives power.
There is nothing you are facing that doesn’t have solution hidden somewhere. Seek the face of the Lord and look for materials that addresses your particular challenge.
David sought the Lord and God heard him. When you take a day out to seek the Lord, he will answer. He will show us those things we know not.
