TOPIC: THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD – PART 1

Text: Ps 23:1

*The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want…..*

The word Shepherd is from Greek word “raah” which means to tend, rule…

A shepherd leads and tends the flock in the way they should go. Many Children of God recites this verse without actually practising what the verse is saying.

Many of us claim that God is our Shepherd but we are not tending to his leading. Our ability to follow the leading and tending of God is the greatest secret to success in all endeavours.

When God leads, you can be sure that you will never be in want of anything good in life wherever he leads you to.

Majority speak to God but only few hear from God. Many Christians are lost in the junction of confusion because of their inability to discern what God is saying.

You see, a shepherd is the leader and you must learn how to hear the shepherd’s voice and to be obedient to your shepherd if you don’t want to go outside his perfect will for your life. Living outside the will of God is the root of frustration and inner dissatisfaction that many are experiencing today.

Beloved, your obedience to God’s leading on daily basis is the depth of your spirituality. We can’t claim to know God and not know his voice. He said “my sheep knows my voice”- John 10:27

Every sheep relies on the shepherd for direction. If we desire to prosper generally in all life endeavours, seeking direction from God is very crucial. You see, something can be popular yet wrong. We must learn to wait on God for his own designed way for us if we don’t want to miss our way in life.

Listen, it’s the responsibility of the shepherd to look for pasture for the sheep. God is ready to lead us to a land of plenty but many aren’t sensitive to his leading.

You see, the Shepherd’s leading may look ridiculous sometimes that you wonder if anything good can ever come out from it. The secret to peace and joy is doing what the Lord wants you to do and being where he wabta you to be.

You see, what you can see with your eyes today are not as real as what God can see thousand years ahead. God knows the best that will last beyond today.

If you desire to have good things of life and be free from frustration, learn to know and obey the voice of God.
