BIBLE: GAL. 2:16

Knowing that a man is not justified(made righteous) by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, *that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall *no flesh be justified(made right with God.

Listen, those who think they are qualified for God’s blessing base on their works always ended up disappointed. Those who came to God base on their faith, rights and privileges in Christ’s work at Calvary always returned helped. Your works can only earn you less compare to what Jesus works on the cross will earn you.

For example, in Luke 18:9-14, there was a story of two men who came to pray. One came for justification through works and the other came by faith in what God can do without looking at his weaknesses and faults in real life. First claim to be tithing, fasting, giving, living holy etc but the other focused on God’s perfection not his own life’s weaknesses. Well, the man of faith went home justified.

You see, look at people who find faults in everyone around you and evaluate what they receive from God. Listen, in my view those who come to God without self righteousness and glorification always live a better life compared to those who claim to be better than everyone because they fast more or have better works of the law than others.

Finally for tonight, if it’s by works and not by Jesus finished work on the cross, then there is no need for Jesus death. Paul was already a Pharisee and zealous man but those works of the law he kept blameless could not save him until he accepted Jesus. No wonder he had revelation on justification by faith and not by the law.

Advice: Read your New Testament most especially the epistles written to the Church than anything else so that you can live a New Testament life and not Old Testament life.

For now, Good night
