Bible Text: MATTHEW 21:20-22; MARK 11:20-26

Unforgiveness in our hearts will keep our prayers from being answered.

We should forgive others as quickly as we make the decision to pray.

When we are offended or hurt, we often feel justified in holding a grudge but it shouldn’t be an “Eye for eye, tooth for tooth”. To demand that others must earn our forgiveness through punishment is not Christlike.

Jesus died for every man’s sins, extending forgiveness to us while we were yet sinners, and we should do the same.
It is doubtful that a person who refuses to forgive has ever experienced forgiveness himself.

The last step you need to take to receive answer to the long awaiting promise of God could be to forgive that offender.

Unforgiveness is not a disadvantage to the offender like the one who keeps the grudge. When you are sleepless and bitter because of the offense, the offender is busy sleeping. Why must you keep yourself in bondage for past sins done to you that you lack power to change or reverse. Jesus shows mercy on all his persecutors and pray for them. Stephen pleaded on behave of his enemies – Acts 7:59

Unforgiveness is cancerous. It leads to hatred and bitterness. Living with bitterness will open door for wrong spirit to dominate your life. It paves way for sicknesses and diseases. It is the easiest shortcut to devil’s manipulation. In fact, it is almost impossible to deliver someone who live in hatred and bitterness from demonic influence and manipulations

Beloved, until you forgive your offenders you may remain in bondage yourselves because sometimes, someone you are fighting don’t even know or care less about the issue. Why not let it go and be at peace with God and with man? Forgive them because of your own self.

Do you remember the story of that servant that Jesus talked about in Matthew 18:23-35. He was forgiven a debt of over #3,000,000,000 and yet he refused to forgive his fellow servant who owed him #3,000.

You see, that is the attitude of many Christians. The forgiveness we have received from the Lord is infinitely greater than any forgiveness we will ever be asked to extend to others. Jesus died for our sins but you haven’t die for that fellow.

Always remember, you paid nothing for the forgiveness you receive from the Lamp of God who shed His own blood for you and I while we were yet in our iniquities- Rom. 5:8

Have you been raped, cheated, maltreated and despitefully use by your brother, uncle, sister etc? Let it go and move on. You are a victor and not a loser. In fact, you don’t need to demand for forgiveness.

It may be hard to forget but you can forgive. When you longer feel bitter when you see the person involved, then you have forgiven indeed.

The simple way of achieving that is to put the person in prayers. With time, you will get over it. It works. Praise God.
