Title: Walking as light in this crooked generation
By: Isaac Oluwaseun Agbenla
Bible: Philippians 2:14-16
There is nothing we can do against the truth for the truth. We are in the end time, with the world going outrightly against the will and commandment of God. Perilous times are here when those things that are known to be abominations are now in vogue all in the name of enlightenment age.
However, the standard of God has not changed. In 2 Tim.2:19, the Bible says:
*Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity*
Beloved, as light in the world, we are expected to be the light that will destroy the darkness by shining the light and illuminating every dark corners with the glory of God. It is also our responsibility to salt the earth from decadence. It is God’s ultimate desire and eternal plan to make His ambassadors the solution to the world of moral annihilation.
The world is becoming darker and men/women are walking in gross darkness and we Christians remains the hope to this hopeless world. *Gross darkness has covered the people and the earth is full of darkness but upon mount Zion there shall be deliverance and there shall be holiness and the people of God in this generation shall possess their possession*. We can only fulfil this mission by living an exemplary and Christlike life in the midst of perverse nations and secularism.
Until we that are called to be light to the world begin to shine, darkness will not stop spreading. It takes light to send darkness parking. *The world need us like never before to put an end to this wasteful losses.*
Listen, no matter how small light is, darkness takes a bow around it. Sometimes the light little of your hand-band or telephone screen is all you needed to walk through dark places. You see, no matter how young you are in the Lord, if you present yourself as a living sacrifice to God, your light will chase darkness.
The question now is, are you ready to be a worthy ambassador? Will you let go of self aggrandizement and popular opinions to please God? Are you ready to be nobody so that you can be somebody for God? Are you ready to say goodbye to pleasure of this world to please your maker?
Beloved, you are wasting your life if you are not ready to shine for God. It may be too late after today.
God desires that His children will show the world the way to live and not to join the world to do evil. We are to live by example and others are to learn to follow. We are to stand out through the nature of God which indwells us.
Brethren, it is only light that can conquer darkness. We are the light to the world. Let us now take our stand on earth and take dominion over all the kingdom of darkness and their works.
Listen, God wants us to be blameless, harmless, holy and without rebuke in the mist of this crooked generation. The only way to achieve our aim is to live an exemplary life that others can learn from. Against this wrong common say , “if you can change them, join them” be a good ambassador.
Anytime light shines, darkness must disappear. No matter how small the light is, it is an enemy of darkness.
Until we are changed, we can’t dare change others because you cannot give what you don’t have. The world in general is seeking solution to this current calamity that has befallen it, many reprobate minds are looking for ways out of their dungeon. God is counting on you and I to show them the way out. But, if we ourselves don’t know the way or are not prepared, then it will be very difficult to please the master who has entrusted us with this assignment.
He who turns many to righteousness shall be as stars forever – Dan. 12:3.
Beloved, people no longer have interest in what we preach like proving what we preach through our lifestyles. This is the period when people will be doing comparison between themselves and Christians and begin to see reason to live a better and deeper life. We are to hold forth the word of life with high esteem and practice them before all men so that our accuser will have nothing to say against us when they see us as we live..
Beloved, we are Christ ambassadors and we must represent him well on earth, failure to do this, we may end up guilty for our negligence. To be a Christian is not by mouth or going to church alone, it is a thing of the spirit.
