Good Morning Saints,
*_Topic: Can a Christian have Assurance of Salvation? Part 2_*
By: _Isaac Oluwaseun Agbenla_
_Bible Text_: Romans 8:30
*_Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified._*
Having discussed the first step to assurance of Salvation, the second step to walking in freedom over fear of hell is by unlearning what you have wrongly learnt about salvation and eternity with God.
The visa to heaven is Salvation through faith in Christ Jesus and the ticket is obedience. Every other activities are ingredients that makes our journey to heaven sweet, pleasant and rewarding. When I say Salvation, I don’t mean going to Church but genuine encounter with God that leads to the birth of a new person with a new heart and a new spirit within.
When a man is genuinely Born again, he/she will love God. I have not seen a genuinely Born again Christian who hates God. There show of love in obedience may not be perfect yet but they surely love to be perfect. We need to understand that love increases or decreases through relationship. If you have scarce relationship with God, you tend to become lukewarm in the faith but if you maintain good relationship with God after salvation, your relationship with him with be cordial. Your love for God is proportional to your relationship with him.
You see, many people have been wrongly taught. They have told you anytime you break a law, your name has been removed from the book of life and hell is next. Many people are in Church but they don’t have assurance of heaven yet they pray for God to answer their prayers in other areas of life. If you are not qualified for heaven, what makes you think you are qualified for answer to your prayers? They will attend all services yet they would say they aren’t sure of heaven because no one is righteous but God. What a hell on earth!!
You see, if you’re not sure God will take you to heaven on Sunday with all your activities in Church, pls stop praying to God because if you’re not qualify for heaven, you are not qualify for blessings. You are either qualified or unqualified. Simple
Listen, there are stages in spiritual growth. There are babes and imperfect people in the Church and they are called brethren by Apostle Paul himself -1 Cor. 3:1-3. Paul didn’t call them sinners because there was envy, strife etc among them. If God expects us to grow, He definitely know we aren’t perfect yet. God knows where you ought to be spiritually and if you refuse to grow, he will chastise you till maturity.
Beloved, you don’t loose salvation because you aren’t as perfect as your G. O. If you don’t grow up spiritually, it is at your disadvantage. If you are DWELLING IN SIN, you are in Satan’s territory because a normal Christian shouldn’t be found in such devil’s business. Dwelling in sin is not a normal state of a Christian.
See John 5:24,
*_”Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life._*
This is a verse to meditate on. Spend time to absorb this truth into your inner heart. The Bible is clear, if you believe in God and His Son, you have eternal life which is the guarantee of eternity with God. The Bible says _you have already pass from death to life and escape judgement to come_. That is, you will not be judge to destruction in hell again. The only judgement you will face after this earth is the judgement to test your works and reward you accordingly. This verse assures you of your salvation and place in heaven. You can’t spiritual victory without meditating on the truth. Take time to meditate in the word of God daily.
You see, get verses like this out from your Bible using Google and meditate on them privately until you have revelational knowledge of this truth. If you don’t want to listen to message of condemnation starts reading the Bible for yourself.
Listen, what you hear consistently can determine your destiny. Don’t feed your soul with wrong words otherwise you will end hooked in wrong thoughts.
