*Good Morning Saints,*
*Topic: The weakness of the Law Part 3*
*Subtitle: The law cannot redeem you*

*Text: Romans 3:24*
*Being justified (made righteous) freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:*
The greatest gift of divinity to humanity is Salvation. You can call it another name, deliverance or redemption because they all ended up as same thing. Redemption from death to life comes through faith and not by works. We were delivered from the kingdom of darkness to Light not because of our works but through faith we have in the name of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour (Col. 1:9)
In Ephesians 2:8-9, the Bible says:
*For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:*
[9 *Not of works, lest any man should boast.*
Notice two statements in the verses above
1. Redemption or Salvation is a gift. You don’t work for gift. You work for reward or prize. You are not saved because you are a better sinner. God says in his word, no man can come unto me except I draw him (John 6:44). You didn’t become save by your will, you become save because God draws you. Also understand that, it’s not your faith that get you born again. It’s the faith of God.
2. Salvation/ Redemption is not by works so you can not boast about it that you did it yourself. No. Never think you were saved because you are better than your brother. A sinner is a sinner before salvation no matter how big or small is your own sin (Rom. 6:23).
Now, if redemption is through Grace and Faith in Christ Jesus and his finished works on Calvary. What else can we not get through faith. Roman’s 3:24 says *freely made righteous by faith*. It shows righteousness itself is not by works. If righteousness and redemption are by faith in Christ, what other thing can we get from God that doesn’t come by faith but by the law.
The law couldn’t save the people from their sins that was why God sent his son in the likeness of man to die for our redemption. If Jesus died for our redemption, it shows that the law was unable to give redemption to mankind. No matter how perfect a man has kept the law, he is yet unsaved because the law itself is weak. Righteousness that comes by the law is still filthy before the throne of God. God needs righteousness that imputed into us when we believe in the son who has never sinned before. Only Jesus is righteous enough to stand before God’s throne and that is why he took our own sins at the cross and gave us his own righteousness as a gift so that we can approach the father in his name and in his righteousness.
*For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:*
Many people are trying to live right without salvation through faith in Christ Jesus today. No matter how much they try to be perfect, the law they keep in their flesh is weak that it’s unable to give them redemption until they have faith in Christ…
That was the story of Cornelius in Acts 10:1-3:
*There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,*
*A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.*
*He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius*……
*Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.*
He was a good and just man. He gave alms but they were unable to give him salvation until God told him to sent for Peter who preached the word of salvation to him until he and his household became saved. Good works is not redemption or Salvation. It is redemption that produces good works in us. Every good done outside salvation will not to be rewarded in heaven, heaven only recognises those who whose name are written in the book of life. Until your name is in the book of life, no account for your good works in heaven.
Finally, if redemption which is the greatest gift comes by faith, all other blessings of God comes primarily by faith and walking in faith through the word of God.
