Topic: God’s plan for Christians: Blessing OR Curse?

Text: *Gal. 3:13-14*

*Christ has REDEEMED US from the curse of the Law, being made a curse for us: …… That the BLESSING of ABRAHAM might come UPON THE GENTILES through Jesus Christ*.

From the above verse, it is absolutely clear that the curse has been dealt with through Christ’s’ sacrifice. When the Bible says Christ has redeemed us from the curse that came by breaking the law, do you think the Bible is joking with such a statement? You better believe the Word of God in its simplicity

The word “REDEEMED” in that verse is from the Greek Word “EXAGORAZO” which means

*” to buy up”*
*” to rescue from loss”*.

The Bible was saying in essence that Christ has *bought us for himself* after giving himself as a ransom to die for us. He paid for us by his death. We are supposed to die for our sins but he paid for our sins so that he can own us.

To explain this truth further, 1 Cor. 6:20 put it this way:

*For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which is God’s.*

Jesus bought us from destruction and gave us eternal life. He owns us. How can curse reign over Jesus’ property all things being equal?

It also means *He rescue us from loss*. We are bound for hell but Christ Redeemed us from eternal destruction, that is, rescue us from that eternal damnation.

Christ rescued us by paying a ransom just like kidnappers demand ransom to release their hostage. It is physical & spiritual transactions. Man Sold himself out to the devil when he ate the forbidden fruit, he was under devil’s authority until Jesus came with liberation mandate to destroy the works of the devil and set man free from the yoke of darkness.

To be liberated from that prison, man needs another man who is free from sin. No man born of a sexual relationship can meet that condition. We need God incarnated to be a man. Jesus came into the world sinless & offered himself as the ransom needed to release man from prison we found ourselves through Adam’s sin.

The one who paid for your life with his own life now has legal right over you. The day you accept Jesus as your Saviour, you have the right to what he accomplished on the cross of Calvary.

Now you see, until this truth is dawn on you and I mean in your spirit man, you may never walk in the reality of this wonderful truth. Many children of God live like slaves in the world and many are even living at the mercy of the devil. Many of us don’t even act as sons but slaves. We think God is a boss that we must weep and lament before we can get his attention. We have reduced our Heavenly Father to a military dictator that cannot be confronted with our challenges boldly. That’s the problem of incomplete and incompetent expository of the word of God has caused in some churches.

You see, every child will approach his rich father with confidence for his needs. It’s the responsibility of the Father. God told us to come to his presence boldly not with inferiority.

In Hebrews. 4:16, the Bible says: *Let us come boldly to the throne of Grace…*

You see, Christ has redeemed us from the curse that came by the law of any kind. Every sin of your forefathers came through disobedience to the law because without law there is no sin (Rom. 4:15).

And Jesus came, died, was buried, and resurrected so that he can abolish every curse that came from the law. Today, everyone that has known the Lord ought to be free from all curses THROUGH knowledge of this revelation.

Listen, Jesus was made to be a curse because of us. In the land of Israel in the Old Testament, whoever is hanged on the tree is cursed. Jesus was hanged on the tree which means he was cursed on that tree & so that curses will longer reign over your life when you surrender your life to Christ as Lord and Personal Savior. *This is one of the greatest truths devils will do everything to keep from a Christian*. That’s where your victory is. Keep meditating on Gal. 3:13-14
