Good Evening Saints,
I wrote this a two years ago & still 100% true because truth will not change no matter how long
There is NO SINLESS man on earth today & neither are we going to have one forever, we only have righteous man/women justified by faith in Christ Jesus. We have men/women striving daily to please God and accept Jesus Lordship over their lives.
You may not have committed sins like stealing, murder, fornication,e adultery etc but it doesn’t actually mean you haven’t missed God at all as a believer over the years.
If we are to go by the bible definition of sin which states:
*”Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin* -James 4:17.
With this verse, we can therefore conclude that disobedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit is a sin. Having food and money and yet refuse to help those who are in need around us is a sin etc.
Note: If a Believer chooses to commit sin willfully, it’s probably because he lacks the right knowledge of what he looses & the consequences of his walking in darkness (sin) because sin is Satan’s territory.
The truth is, NO General Overseer is sinless. I have heard many of our fathers saying they missed God or act against God’s instructions at one time or the other. Now, I don’t mean they indulge in sin willfully but miss God. Kenneth Hagin, Pst E. A Adeboye, Bishop Oyedepo included.
You see, if we are already perfect, we wouldn’t need the *Holy Spirit* again as believers. You don’t need a professor after graduation. You need him to thoroughly train, instruct, direct, guide, reproof, rebuke and correct you until you graduate. That is also spiritually true. We need the Holy Spirit till death because we aren’t going to graduate from the school of learning and modelling.
You see, there is different between being sinless and being righteous.
Righteousness that qualifies a believer before God now under the new covenant is a gift.
In Romans 5:17, the Bible says:
*For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of THE GIFT of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ*
Note: It is called “the” gift not a gift. The definite article *the* was used to mean there is only one righteousness which is of faith under new covenant.
We are therefore righteous men but not sinless. We are not going to be righteous after obeying any rules and regulations, it’s important to note that it is called the gift of righteousness. You don’t work for gift, it’s free.
We are already made righteous through our faith in Jesus Christ.
Here is it in Romans 3:22,
*Even the righteousness of God which is by FAITH of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:* KJV
Is that in your Bible? Yes I guess. By faith is CAPITALIZED so that we can catch it.
Righteousness is 100% already. It’s a gift not by works. We are made righteous not that we earn it by what we have done.
If you think you are sinless, it is self righteousness.
In 1 John 1:10, the bible says:
*If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.*
Remember, this epistle of John was written to *Christians not unbelievers*.
Leaving you to meditate now
