HOW TO HEAR FROM GOD PART 1 25/09/17 BY: ISAAC O. AGBENLA

*TOPIC: HOW TO HEAR FROM GOD Part 1*

Bible: Prov. 20:27

The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly

Introduction to the main topic

God speaks to all of his children but only a few can hear, some don’t even know what it means for God to speak & some still don’t believe that God speaks to man.

Hearing from God is the birthright of everyone that is in Christ Jesus. You need to understand this biblical fact: you are the first prophet to yourself under the New Covenant. God doesn’t have pleasure in neglecting you and discussing your matter with someone else inasmuch you are available and sensitive to his leading. I have not personally figure out times when God would jump people when it comes to “personal life issues” and tells others what He wants to communicate with them. This can only happen when we are not sensitive or dull of hearing.

Under the New Testament, God deals directly with believers but he guides our steps, strengthens out spiritual growth & he edifies us through vessels in different ministerial offices. Beloved, you need to desire to know how God speaks to you personally. There are about 10 channels God uses when he wants to communicate with his children. If you follow this teaching, you will have a life changing experience about hearing from God.

The Church must at this time avoid building doctrines on practices that made the man of God a prayer or hearing machinery. This can actually take the place of personal relationship with God most especially now that false prophets with false prophecies are emerging daily. Believers that are experiencing normal spiritual growth do not need their pastors to represent them before God. They have equal access to the throne of Grace. They can hear for themselves if they know how to wait on God. Your pastor can be God’s representative to you, that is, God could use him to teach, instruct, advise, direct or chastise you but you can’t make him your representative before God.

Heb.4:16 says:
*Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of Grace*

The verwe is not referring to pastors or Bishops alone but all believers. This is what I teach my members. We all have access to God

Everyone occupying a particular office is there to confirm what God has spoken to you before but you couldn’t hear due to your Insensitivity or, you are not listening enough to details or you are still doubting or not being sure.

The major responsibility of the prophets in the church today is not for people to go to them so that they can see visions for them. That is Old Testament style and that was because people don’t have access to God like we enjoy now. Today, God dwells in our spirit through the Holy Spirit. In the Old Testament, they could not communicate with God like now except those who are called to one office or the other. This is because only those who are called by God for service do have Holy Spirit UPON them for that service. God equips priests, prophets, kings, and anyone chosen for an assignment to enable them to achieve the task given to them, because of that, people have to meet them so that they can help them to inquire from the Lord but this is not the same under New Covenant.

It doesn’t mean we cannot meet with spiritual leaders but until we have done our best in seeking and waiting before the Lord. The reason we seek for prayers here and there is because of our spiritual bankruptcy. You can’t pray or wait on the Lord like before. If only we would learn to wait and hear from God, we would avert 90% of all crisis we suffer in the world
